This costume is one we're seriously considering for our Chihuahua, especially if we can't find the Mad Max costume we want. I've seen another version of this one, without the arms, but I like the effect that your Chihuahua has been gobbled up by the shark.

Most of the photos we post here on The Dapper Chihuahua are pictures we find online, but we want to start running photos of our readers' dogs.
If you've got a great picture of your Chihuahua wearing a snazzy sweater or a cool costume or some goofy clothes -- or just being very cute -- then please let us see it! Just email your picture to scottpup14 (at) gmail (dot) com, and then keep an eye on this site! Be sure to tell us if you want us to use your name when we credit the photo.
We expect to get a bunch of photos, so please don't be offended if we don't have time to respond to all emails personally.

I realized I haven't posted any photos of our little Chihuahua, so here she is. In the photo above, she was ferociously attacking my feet. Please pretend the little stain on the rug doesn't exist.
She looks furious in the photo below, but she was actually chewing a piece of grass.
I'll try to get some pictures of her in her Roughhouse Gang sweater or one of her costumes, but she gets kind of embarrassed about that stuff sometimes.

Now take a look at this little guy -- I don't know what the story is with that outfit, but this Chihuahua looks like he should be battling it out in a sword fight with the sinister Lord Doberman to decide who shall sit upon the throne of Chiwania.
I'm not sure if this is a Chihuahua sweater, or a costume, or just some kind of medieval Chihuahua clothes, but it's definitely dapper.

I've been looking at this Chihuahua in her little sweater and trying to figure out if that thing in the front is a scarf or some kind of additional sweater for a smaller Chihuahua to ride around in. Your guess is as good as mine, but I'm not sure I'd put our Chihuahua in clothes that look like they were made for Siamese twins.
I have to admit, this Chihuahua looks very dapper in his little sombrero. I don't think our dog would sit still with something like that on her head, though.
With all the Chihuahua costumes, clothes and sweaters out there, it never occurred to me to search for Chihuahua hats.

I know it's tough to spot, but if you look carefully, you'll see a cleverly-disguised Chihuahua in the photo above. That's a sharp little camouflage sweater or vest or whatever the heck you call it. There are some pretty crazy Chihuahua clothes out there, huh?

While this little Chihuahua might not be sporting a dapper sweater, he certainly knows how to wail. I'm not sure if he's really singing along or if he's trying to tell his mom to put on some Led Zeppelin. I'd screech like that if I had to listen to A-Ha, myself.

Normally I wouldn't judge a guy by the way his mom dresses him, but check out the big, goofy sweater on this Chihuahua. I don't know if he's forced to wear his big brother's hand-me-down clothes or if he just has delusions of bigness, but you could stuff two or three more Chihuahuas in there with him.

Normally we take a look at Chihuahua sweaters, costumes and other clothes here, but sometimes you need to take your little dog on a journey, and if you check out some of the sources online, you can find nifty little dog carriers like the one pictured above. We saw one in a store once that was decked out with skulls and flames, it was very cool.
There seem to be endless Chihuahua accessories available out there. No Mad Max costume yet, however.

If you have a Chihuahua, I'm willing to bet you've awakened to find yourself being gawked at by a face much like this one. As for the sweater, I'm not sure but it looks like somebody's got his Christmas outfit on.
We continue to search for the perfect costume for our Chihuahua -- no luck yet, although we've sure found some great sources for Chihuahua clothes online, but Halloween is gonna be here before we know it.

How adorable is this little Chihuahua puppy, all bundled up in its toasty-warm sweater? It's always amazing to me just how tiny these dogs are. I suspect they enjoy wearing little clothes and costumes more when they're puppies, and they tend to get colder.

Check out this little guy -- now there's a Chihuahua who's ready for a run around the park. I'm pretty sure our Chihuahua would never put up with the little shoes, but she does seem to enjoy wearing sweaters and other clothes. If I could just find that Mad Max Chihuahua costume I've been dreaming of, we'd be all set.

Here's another Chihuahua wearing a sweater that makes him look like he should be causing trouble for Popeye. We recently found a bunch of Chihuahua clothes that look kind of like this, so our Chihuahua is totally gonna be sporting the Roughhouse Gang look this winter.

Okay, I'm not sure what's going on with the clothes this tubby little Chihuahua is wearing. Is that some kind of insulated kilt? A cold-weather schoolgirl uniform? I just don't know. It might be an especially heavy Chihuahua sweater, but your guess is as good as mine.

This pirate outfit is a pretty elaborate Chihuahua costume, isn't it? I'm not sure if this is commercially available or was custom made, but I've seen some similar outfits online where Chihuahua sweaters, costumes and other clothes are sold. I especially like those little dreadlocks.

I'm not sure how I feel about Chihuahua weddings, although this little pup looks cute in her dress. And I wouldn't mind a slice of the cake, unless it's made out of pet food.
At least this photo gives me hope -- if there are Chihuahua wedding dresses out there among all the Chihuahua sweaters, costumes and other clothes, then surely there's a Mad Max costume waiting for our little Chihuahua.

As far as Chihuahua clothes go, I'm not sure how I feel about this outfit. It's cute and all, but I feel like someone turned my mom into a dog.
That said, I need to hit the Chihuahua sweater and costume sites to see if I can find some of those little slippers for our Chihuahua, she doesn't like her feet to get cold when she goes outside in the wintertime. Then I have to rescue her from the terror of cold feetses.

Here's a little Chihuahua folded into a crispy taco shell. This Chihuahua costume gave me an idea -- dress our Chihuahua up in a Starbucks cup and call her a Chai-huahua.
I'm pretty sure this taco costume (or something similar) is readily available online from sellers who specialize in Chihuahua clothing, sweaters and costumes. You might also try dealers who handle Chihuahua food and other pet items.

Okay, I'm not sure what the story is with this Chihuahua, who's sporting the famous nose glasses mixed with a snazzy feather boa. As any spy will tell you, if you're gonna wear a disguise, it's probably best to avoid wrapping a colorful hunk of stuff around your neck.
I've been researching Chihuahua costumes, sweaters and clothing lately and finding lots of great stuff out there. We're considering getting another Chihuahua puppy as a pal for our two-year-old Chihuahua, but if so, we want to go through a Chihuahua Rescue service. I wonder if they've got any puppies trying to disguise themselves as Groucho Marx?

I don't know how many people remember Pete Barbutti, who used to appear regularly on The Tonight Show back in the glory days when it was hosted by the amazing Johnny Carson, but when I saw the photo of that little Chihuahua sporting a toupee, I was instantly reminded of Barbutti.
Most Chihuahuas seem to enjoy wearing costumes and clothing, but I'm not sure how they feel about little wigs. I'm still trying to find that Mad Max costume for our Chihuahua, although I did find a cool Freddy Krueger sweater for her.
Take a look at that terrifying creature, willya? Personally, I spend too much time scritching the head of my one-headed Chihuahua, if she had three heads I'd never get anything else done.
Although I suspect that the outfit above is a custom job, Chihuahua costumes, sweaters and other clothing are easy to find online.
Thursday, September 2, 2010
I mentioned before that we've been looking for a Mad Max Halloween costume for our Chihuahua, and this guy comes pretty close to the Road Warrior style. The great thing about having a Chihuahua and Internet access is that you can find almost any sort of costume or clothing for your little dog and have it delivered right to your door.
This little Chihuahua is pulling off a tough look with his snazzy costume -- he looks like he might be ready to sing a disco hit or strut his stuff on the lighted dance floor, but I have to say I dig the camouflage vest. Chihuahuas are incredibly tolerant when it comes to allowing us humans to dress them in little clothes, but if they ever get together and combine their forces, I think we Chihuahua fans are gonna be dressed pretty funny ourselves.

Take a look at the clothes on this dapper Chihuahua. I'm not quite sure if he's sporting the hip-hop look or the Lance Armstrong, but it's a suave outfit. Those almost look like Steampunk goggles -- and now that I mention it, a Steampunk outfit for our Chihuahua would be a great look for winter.
Halloween is fast approaching, and that means you're gonna want to get a swell costume for your Chihuahua. There are many sources out there for Chihuahua clothing and costumes, ranging from cute and goofy to kind of awesome.
Personally, I'm looking for a little Mad Max costume for our Chihuahua.
